The Cumberland County Clerk’s Office and the Board of Elections wants to make sure you’ve the latest information on the many options you have to vote in the November 3, 2020 General Election.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has issued Executive Order 177. This order mandates that our office send Vote by Mail ballots with prepaid postage to all registered Active voters by October 5, 2020. You may also vote in person at your designate polling location, but you will be voting on a provisional paper ballot.

To return your completed Vote by Mail ballot, you’ll have the choice to either:

  • Mail it – United States Postal Service (USPS) – the Board of Elections ask if you chose this option to mail your ballot at least 2 weeks prior to November 3, 2020.
  • Drop it – in one of 11 secured drop box locations throughout the county (For drop box locations call the Board of Elections at 856-453-5801).
  • Deliver it – directly to the Board of Elections office. (Call ahead to arrange at 856-453-5801).
  • Bring it – (this applies only to your ballot) to your designated polling location on November 3, 2020.

All ballots placed in the mail, postmarked on or before Election Day, November 3rd and received by November 10th (no later than 8:00 PM) will be counted.

To assist you in tracking your ballot and when it will arrive, the County Clerk’s Office recommends you sign-up for the free service, “Informed Delivery” offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Information can be found at the following link: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action. You can also sign up to “Track your Ballot” through the State of New Jersey Website: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-in

You will need your Voter ID number to register. You can get your Voter ID number by calling the Board of Elections at 856-453-5801.

Postcards with your polling location will be mailed in place of sample ballots.

For those who opt to vote in person, the Governor’s order calls for at least one polling location in each municipality to be open. Those ballots will be via provisional paper ballot.

Anyone wanting to register to vote in the General Election can still do so until October 13th.
